ゲストは、栃木県宇都宮市の北部で、「若竹の杜（もり）若山農場」を運営する「ワカヤマファーム」の代表「若山太郎」さんです。
親子三代にわたり、宇都宮で農場を営む「ワカヤマファーム」は関東を代表する筍などの生産、植木用の竹の栽培、そして広大な敷地に竹林があることでも知られています。
手入れの行き届いた緑あふれる美しい竹林は、映画「るろうに剣心」や「キングダム」のロケ地になったり、ほかにも多くのCMやプロモーション・ビデオなどの撮影に使われているそうです。
今回は、そんな農場を営む「若山」さんに、竹という植物の不思議や竹の品種改良、そして今が旬の筍のお話など、竹の魅力をたっぷり語っていただきました。
