In this context, to "molest" does not mean sexual harassment in the modern sense. It comes from the amplification of the Greek word diōkō, which means to pursue, harass, trouble, or chase.

* Spiritually: Because Jesus is in heaven, and his followers are on earth, Jesus identifies so closely with his church that he considers acts against them as acts against his own spirit and being.

* Molesting/Troubling: Saul was not just legally arresting Christians; he was attempting to break their faith, causing them intense emotional and spiritual anguish, and forcing them to blaspheme.
