About this listen

More Than Just Golf

Yes, the silky smooth voice that has launched a thousand seductions has turned its wise attentions upon the game of golf. Scotty X that perennial putting proponent of the claw grip and left hand low has shared his deep reflections with the chosen few. Those lucky enough to find their way here to the promised land have struck golfing gold. In more golf news and that is not a typo, but a deliberate SEO underarm throw the GolfDom blog podcast launches to great acclaim on the golfing world Down Under. Listeners can hear firsthand the sage advice of an old time pro with the flat stick and where it all went so woefully wrong.

On The Golf Course I Think About More Than Just Golf

However, nothing can keep Scotty down for long, even if getting up again is becoming decidedly harder as the days go by. Fanfare erupts in the golfing realm in Australia and internationally as the GolfDom blog podcast launches across the airwaves. Reading the break has just got a whole lot more complicated and understanding the grain will go down in history as a Scotty X ‘no brainer’. Whether you wield a broomstick putter or a shorter instrument is of no concern to this teaching marvel and commentator on this great game of ours.

  • Episode 25: Who Are We Australia?
    Apr 23 2026

    Robert Sudha Hamilton
Beginning with the Zombie Neoliberalism still infecting Australian governments, which results in our leaders giving away our LNG to all intents and purposes, the question must be asked WHY?

So, What Does It Mean To Be Australian?

I thought that it could be useful, in light of the apparent rise in the populist politics of grievance, to ask, so, what does it mean to be Australian? Anti-immigration is the flag waving vanguard theme of One Nation and the remnants of the Liberal party. Blame it on the immigrant appears number one on the political grievance charts downunder. Therefore, it provokes the question – what does it mean to be Australian?

  • Episode 24: The Language of Liquor
    Apr 15 2026

Robert Sudha Hamilton is back in hi viz & working hard in a liquor super store. This podcast episode is a reflection on what it is like.
What is the language of liquor?
The language of liquor is a special dialect replete with jargon and keywords. Some customers will only give you a single word to indicate their order and look at you as if you are an idiot if you ask for more.
3 years ago we were spending some $26 billion annually on liquor in Australia. I confidently predict that figure has only increased in the meantime. It was a shock to my system seeing the prices of these packaged products and what some individuals were regularly forking out for their tipple weekly. Hundreds of dollars spent on recreational drinking and it all just gets pissed away in the end or out of it at any rate. Such are the vagaries of life, I suppose.
The grog shop super store is an Aladdin’s Cave of sparkling colour of packaged product. Liquor is largely non-descript fluid encased in glass, metal or plastic, which is tricked up in printed packaging. It is in this packaging that these products gain their distinctive identities, which are so beloved by some customers.
“Mama, just killed a man.” Let me tell you about what I have seen when I have poked my head inside the vehicles carrying customers through my drive-through. Withered bodies still bearing the tired tattoos inked upon torsos and limbs long, long ago. The ravages of alcohol after decades of excessive consumption are not pretty sights.
Join me on this voyage into bottle shop brain sights and sounds.

  • Episode 23: Confessions of a Delivery Driver
    Mar 30 2026

In this episode we delve into the saucy and sticky world of the gig economy delivery driver. I was going to call this Down and Out in a Dystopian Digital World. You know you have reached the bottom of the employment food chain when you are a gig worker couriering takeaway food to people’s homes. Of course, like everything in life, it’s not all bad. Quite a few of the receiving folk have been warmly gracious; and jobs are really about the people in the end. These confessions of a delivery driver are a mixed bag of the good, bad and ugly – when all is said and done.
Please enjoy these recollections and facts about the guys and gals delivering your takeout & groceries. Have a care about their part in this increasingly unfair tapestry of life in the modern age.
