Real Talk: Voicing the Margins is a series of curated live conversations on issues and topics of critical import to marginalized communities including but not limited to: People of Color, LGBTQA+, Non-neurotypical, and Economically Disadvantaged citizens. The series is intended to provide a platform and space for the voices of often voiceless people. The live conversations will feature a guest host/facilitator whom is an expert on the topic for that specific program. Two to four selected guests will engage with the facilitator in an informative and lively discussion on the topic in front of a live audience. Guests may also be creative artists and/or writers whom focus on the discussion topic. The last thirty minutes of each program will be allotted for feedback and questions from the audience.
The Real Talk series is held the third Saturday of each month regularly at The Woody Guthrie Center located at 102 E. Reconciliation Way. This series is produced in partnership with the Woody Guthrie Center, the Tulsa Artist Fellowship, Folk Alliance International, The Black Wall Street Times, and Tri-City Collective. The series is curated by Tulsa Artist Fellow and Tri-City Collective member Quraysh Ali Lansana, Bracken Klar, & other Tri-City members.
