    Lizzy de la Garza Putegnat is the Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations at Titan Fuel, a fuel export company, where she leads government affairs, marketing, and community outreach. Previously, she worked at Schneider Electric, a Fortune Global 500 company, where she provided energy management consulting for the public sector. Earlier, she was Director of Business Recruitment, Retention, and Expansion at the Brownsville Economic Development Council, where she played a key role in recruiting businesses and creating thousands of jobs, including the recruitment of SpaceX. In this episode interview from May 2025, Lizzy shares about the various hats she wears, some adversities and what she's most proud of. A Brownsville, TX, native from humble beginnings, Lizzy was the first in her family to attend college in the US. She attended Duke University on scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy. After graduating, she moved back to the Rio Grande Valley to make a positive impact in her community. As a passionate community servant leader, she has served on 16 boards and numerous councils and committees. In 2021 Governor Abbott appointed Lizzy to the Texas State Technical College Board of Regents. She is currently serving on 10 state and local boards including: TSTC, Texas Lyceum, Business Development Fund of Texas, RGV Partnership, Chairwoman of Greater Chamber of Harlingen, Treasurer of Harlingen Economic Development Corporation, Vice President of United Way of Northern Cameron County, and many others. Lizzy has received multiple awards and recognitions since 2020, including: “Moms & Industry Honoree” by RGV Linking Economic & Academic Development, “Woman of the Year for Community Service Award” by Zonta Club of Brownsville, “Rio Grande Valley Remarkable Women Finalists” by Nexstar Media Group, “Hispanic Women Making History Award” by Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas RGV Chapter, “Trailblazing Women Award” by State Representative Janie Lopez, “Distinguished Alumni Award” by Leadership Brownsville, “Women Empowerment Award” by Greater Chamber of Harlingen, “Women of Distinction Award” by RGV Hispanic Chamber, and others. Above all, Lizzy is the proud wife of Steven and the proud mother of their biggest blessings, Isabella and Elliana.

    In this episode Rich shares about how he became an author and how he teaches others to command their money. He also shares life advice and how money has played a big role in his life. Rich quit his job at an elementary school to pursue his dreams of being an entrepreneur and started a marketing business, then became a published author of "Sheep Amid Wolves" an adult book on financial literacy, and two children's books "Easton Learns to Save" and "Easton Learns to Budget". His 5-year-old son gave him the idea to write a children's series on money and he quickly became a contributing author. They both want to empower children to not only learn how to manage money. He has been featured on multiple podcasts. Over the last 2 years, he has used his powerful voice to speak in schools, churches, and organizations on financial literacy for children and adults. He is now helping others write and publish their books.

Felida currently serves as President & CEO of Valley Initiative for Development and Advancement (VIDA), a transformative regional nonprofit founded in 1995 that empowers Rio Grande Valley residents to achieve economic prosperity through market-driven training, resources, and career pathways. A licensed Certified Public Accountant in Texas, Felida holds a Master of Accountancy from the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas – Pan American. Recognized as a rising leader in workforce development, Felida was named one of Hispanic Executive's prestigious "30 under 30" honorees in 2024 and among their Leading Latinas in 2025 for her commitment to empowering Latino communities through innovative workforce initiatives and creating sustainable pathways to high-wage careers. Her impact has garnered multiple accolades, including the Hispanic Women Making History Award from HWNT-RGV, and many others. Felida also serves on the Hidalgo County Prosperity Taskforce, a strategic initiative launched by County Judge Richard Cortez to combat poverty in the RGV. In this interview from September 2025, Felida also discusses some of her adversities, provides some life advice both in English and Spanish, and also shares what keeps her going and why she invests so much in the Rio Grande Valley community.
