Paris Blue: A Memoir of First Love is the debut novel from flutist Julie Scolnik, detailing her own experiences of music and love in the City of Lights in the 70s. I read the entire thing, and break it down here.

This story of manipulative teachers, abuse, affairs, love, orchestras, conductors and wine couldn’t be more French; and I enjoyed every second of it.
