  • Kehä Festival Oulu
    Jan 13 2026

Take a walk with us through the rooms and hallways of the Cultural centre Valve in Oulu where Kehä Festival was held 14.-18.10.2025.

We talked with some artists who share their experiences and perspective on fellow artists' work. Besides the performances, we had the opportunity to attend the Symposium about One-to-One Art in care communities, where we explored the diverse ways in which one-to-one art has been done in care environments—and what more could be done. We'll talk about that more in the episodes to come, stay tuned!

ILME has been organising Kehä Festival since 2015. In most years, the Kehä Festival has had a theme that challenges us to explore one-to-one art from a certain angle. In 2025, the theme was Travel. The cultural cooperative ILME has been organising Kehä Festival since 2015.

  • Conversation with Lena Giuliano: Writing On Someone's Grave
    Dec 10 2024

In the second episode of our One-To-One Podcast we are talking with Lena Giuliano, an artist from Brasil/Argentina who was a part of One-To-One Project.

    Lena's statement about the piece:
The artwork “Writing On Someone's Grave” is part of a personal research project in which I try to investigate the intersections between writing and performativity on stage, in academia and in words. What is it like to write on stage? How do you find the desired writing in the scene? The process of creation also involves the psychophysical procedures for entering the scene and preparing the body and mind for writing. Not only activating the mind, but also understanding how else the body should be worked with in this context.

The work was conceived in São Paulo, Brazil, and developed during House of Klajn artistic residency in Klanjec, Croatia.

With this interest in exploring language, I thought of a theme that could reach all people, of all nationalities, ages and genders. Of course, the subject of death came up. There are some people who need to think more about death, others who need to think less. But somehow, everyone thinks about it often. Death is the mystery, the unknown, the fear.
