Welcome to ‘Eldest Immigrant Daughters’ a podcast and community for the First Borns who were forced to raise children they didn’t birth, manage their households, and play translator, therapist, financial advisor, and more for their parents.

In this first episode, get to know our hosts, Janet, Rose-Ingrid and Serisha, three Eldest Immigrant Daughters from Nigerian, Haitian and South African families, respectively. They’re setting the stage by sharing the stories of how they first met, their experiences as ‘parentified’ siblings which have bonded them since their paths initially crossed, and how they’ve been supporting each other ever since.
