The loving kindness meditation, also known as Metta Bhavana. It is believed to have originated in ancient India, before the time of the Buddha. Since then it found a home in Buddhist practice and philosophy and also in Hindu and Jain texts where it is referred to as Maitrī, or "Compassion and loving kindness".

It is a powerful practice that focuses on cultivating love, compassion, and empathy. First we give this love and kindness to ourselves, and then generate the feelings of goodwill, love, kindness and compassion for others, extending this to all living beings.

This meditation fosters within us a sense of interconnectedness and harmony.

It is a way of sharing light and love, without expectation. Simply sharing and knowing that it is an act of positive compassion and it is acting for the good of everyone and everything around you.
