How do you evaluate a claim to prophethood? This episode applies three tests to Muhammad, peace be upon him: what did he stand to gain, did his actions match his words, and did his predictions come true? The results are striking. He turned down wealth, kingship, and all of Arabia to stop preaching. He died with his armor mortgaged for food. His own scripture corrected him publicly — permanently. He made specific predictions about future empires and events that were fulfilled. The profile of a fraud and the profile of a prophet look very different.

The Quran makes a direct claim: "It was not possible for this Quran to be produced by other than Allah." In this episode, we test that claim across four independent lines of evidence: a literary challenge open for 1,400 years and still unanswered, scientific descriptions confirmed only centuries after revelation, perfect preservation without a single letter changed, and the remarkable fact that its carrier was an illiterate man who had nothing to gain by lying. Each line of evidence is worth considering on its own. Together, they demand a serious answer.

Every framework humans use to answer this — pleasure, success, legacy, love — eventually runs out. Pleasure ends. Success fades. Legacy is forgotten. The Quran gives a different answer in chapter 51, verse 56: "I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me." This episode unpacks what the Arabic word ibadah actually means — not just ritual, but all of life oriented toward God — and explores why a purpose that doesn't expire changes how you experience even the smallest moments. Including why a smile carries the weight of charity.

If God is good, all-powerful, and all-knowing — why is there suffering? This is the most common objection to belief in God. The Quran doesn't avoid it. Chapter 2, verse 155 states directly: "We will surely test you." Not maybe. Not if things go wrong. Certainly. This episode examines the Quranic framework for understanding suffering: that this life is not the destination but the journey, that hardship and ease are both tests, and that the patient will receive their reward without measure — from the One who created both the test and the person taking it.

"And in yourselves — do you not see?" — Quran 51:21. Your eye contains 130 million photoreceptors. Every cell in your body carries 3 billion chemical letters of genetic code. Your immune system recognises millions of threats it has never encountered before. In this episode, we follow the Quran's direct instruction to look inward — at the architecture of the human eye, the language of DNA, and the extraordinary coordination of organs — and ask what this level of specified complexity implies about its Designer.

The Quran uses the same word — ayat — for its verses and for the phenomena of the natural world. Both are signs. In chapter 41, verse 53, Allah promises: "We will show them Our signs in the horizons." This episode examines the fine-tuning of the physical universe: Earth's precise distance from the Sun, the exact oxygen concentration in our atmosphere, and water's unusual behavior when it freezes. Each condition is so precisely set that a small change in either direction makes life impossible. Precision like this raises a question.
