  • daysormay on Sound, Trust, and Stripping It Back
    Jun 29 2026

Vancouver band daysormay joins Inlet Wire for a conversation about sound, trust, and learning what to strip away.

Aidan Andrews, Carson Bassett, and Nolan Bassett have been making music together since they were kids, but this episode is less about how the band started and more about what changes after years of writing, producing, and playing together.

They talk about becoming more intentional as adults, moving from production-heavy ideas back toward the core of guitar, bass, drums, and vocals, and how Ableton, live arrangements, and aluminum instruments have shaped the heavier direction of their sound.

We also get into creative disagreement, why they try ideas musically instead of arguing them out, and the memory behind songs like “Ego” and “UV.”

  • Focus Your Audio - Songs About Connection
    Jun 23 2026

In this episode of Inlet Wire, Eric Chan speaks with Sarah and Bobby from Focus Your Audio, a Vancouver duo making thoughtful, emotional songs about connection.

They talk about starting as an acoustic duo, growing into a fuller band sound, and finding a writing process that gives each person space before bringing the song together.

The conversation also goes into the story behind “The Long Goodbye,” a song inspired by Sarah’s experience as a nurse and a family living through dementia.

Sarah and Bobby also reflect on working in the studio with Mike Young of Mother Mother and producer-songwriter Adam Hurstfield, and how those collaborations helped them think more deeply about texture, vulnerability, and emotion in recording.

    Jun 15 2026

Anna Katarina joins Inlet Wire to talk about her album While I Was Dreaming — a record about the beautiful, complicated moments that happen while you’re chasing a different version of success.

In this episode, Anna talks about growing up with big pop-star dreams, learning to value the life around her, and finding meaning in the songs that are not always the obvious “hits.” She also shares how collaboration shaped her writing, what Lost Without You taught her about discipline and inspiration, and why Vancouver still gives her something she needs.
