  • LEGO S2E20
    Jun 15 2026

On today’s show, we’re building the show from the ground, or should I say the baseplate, up, brick by brick by delightful molded plastic brick… That’s right, today, we’re talking all things LEGO. Why have we chosen LEGO for today’s show? Do you really need to ask that? Do you ever need a reason to engage with LEGO in any form? Was there ever a time in your life when LEGO wasn’t the coolest… something in the world? Exaaaactly. LEGO is and has been, for all of our lives at least, one of the coolest things that the modern human mind has ever invented, and it just keeps getting cooler and cooler. Literally billions of lives have been touched by this incredible creation that is so much more than just a toy. LEGO bricks are an ubiquitous part of human culture, and really need no introduction. So grab your favorite mini-fig, a couple of brick separators, and a set of plans for a wildly inventive MOC, and let’s build!

  • Summer Music Festivals S2E19
    Jun 7 2026

On today’s show, as summer is set to start, we’re taking a look at summer music, and more specifically, the institution that is ‘The Summer Music Festival.’ From Woodstock to Coachella, the Summer Music Festival has been a glorious celebration of song, of youth culture, of excess, of hooliganism, and of wildness itself. There’s always a little danger lurking around the corner with summer music festivals, be it rain and electrocution at Woodstock Original-Recipe; coked-up Hell’s Angels at Altamont; mud clod-slinging frat boys at Lollapalooza; or disaffected and pissed-off young white men just looking to ‘break something’ at Woodstock ‘99. In recent years, though, summer festivals have taken on a wholly different feel, for better or, as Justin would have you believe, much, much worse. So with all that in mind, we’ll dive into a little of our personal Summer Music Festival histories, and then we’ll take up the then-vs-now debate and decide once and for all what the essential Summer Music Festival experience is, or at least, should be.

  • Gentle and Soft: The Story of the Blue Jean Committee / The Moment - S2E18
    May 30 2026

On today’s show, we’re diving deep into two films inspired by one of the most groundbreaking and beloved comedy films of all time: This Is Spinal Tap, the first-of-a-genre masterpiece directed by Rob Reiner and starring Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer. The movie spawned imitators aplenty in the mockumentary space and paved the way for such pop cultural icons as The Office, Parks & Recreation, and Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, among many, many others. In 2025, pop superstar Charli XCX released The Moment, a direct modern successor of This Is Spinal Tap, and it’s hilarious. So with that as a starting point, we’re going to review the film alongside another mockumentary that we’ve been eyeing: Gentle and Soft: The Story of the Blue Jean Committee. Though it plays as a feature, it was actually the final two episodes of the first season of Documentary Now!, a fantastic mockumentary series created by Fred Armisen and Bill Hader of Saturday Night Live fame.

  • Indigo Girls: Nomads and Rites - S2E17
    May 23 2026

On today’s show, we’re looking back on two records by two artists that had a big, big influence on both of early musical inspiration. The artists: Amy Ray and Emily Saliers, aka The Indigo Girls. The records: Nomads ⬪ Indians ⬪ Saints and Rites of Passage. We’re diving deep on both of these magnificent albums to get into everything we love about the songwriting, the guitar playing, the vocal harmonizing, and the deep, deep meaning behind so many of the lyrics. It’s gonna be a good one, so get on the bus, y’all!
