Gideon Epstein is a Policy Counsel with the ACLU of Massachusetts’ Technology for Liberty Program, where he focuses on civil liberties, surveillance, data privacy, and artificial intelligence issues. In this role, he leads local and statewide advocacy efforts to strengthen democratic oversight of surveillance technologies and uphold civil rights laws in the face of AI technologies that threaten to reinforce existing patterns of discrimination and bias. Epstein received a B.A. in Government & Politics from the University of Maryland and a J.D. from George Washington University.
