If you learn how to do something new and you do it every day, what often happens? The short version is that you just get better at it. A longer version? You do the thing with enough skill to be competent, then further analyze your process and what you do and you can become faster, or you can increase the value of your work by adding new things of value to the process that go beyond what you've learned, or you can approach the thing differently from how you were originally taught. There are lots of things that happen when you repeatedly do something, but then, what happens if you stop doing some things after, say, a year? It tends to get fuzzy or things get forgotten if you don't do them much and you don't think about them.

What if you tend to approach every problem the same way and you are getting mixed results? What if you start to think about how that could affect your output and your input? Now, you are thinking about the way you think...bravo! Because of how varied situations can be, thinking about how you think can not only broaden your perspectives and train your brain to not only think in ways that can be hugely beneficial across a broader range of scenarios, but it is great at changing one's mindset to better adapt in work and life situations.
