  • Why Sound Doctrine Fuels A Spirit-Led Life
    Jan 26 2026

Start here if you’ve ever tried to grow “fruit of the Spirit” by sheer effort and ended up tired, tense, and stuck. We open our Fruitful series by returning to Galatians, where Paul refuses to treat love, joy, and peace as motivational slogans and instead plants them in the deep soil of the gospel. The story matters: churches Paul founded are now swayed by Judaizers who promise spiritual upgrade through rituals and traditions. Paul answers by rebuilding the foundation—salvation by grace alone through faith in Christ—and then shows how that truth powers a life that keeps in step with the Spirit.

We walk through the unfolding conflict from Acts to Galatians, clarifying why context guards against proof-texting and shallow platitudes. Along the way, we explore a pattern across Paul’s letters: doctrine first, then practice. That order isn’t academic; it’s pastoral. Distorted teaching produces distorted living—pride, fear, and joyless striving—while sound doctrine produces freedom that looks like patience under pressure, kindness when provoked, and self-control in hidden places. We talk about how the local church becomes a guardrail against “every wind of doctrine,” equipping us to speak truth in love and grow together into mature faith.

This conversation is an invitation to evaluate what you believe by the life you live. If your love has cooled or your peace feels thin, the answer isn’t more hustle; it’s a truer grasp of grace. We ask hard questions, call out counterfeit gospels, and point back to Christ’s promise to be with us as we learn to obey all he commands. Listen to root your practice in truth, recover your joy, and get back to running with the Spirit.

  • When Waiting Finds Its Object
    Dec 22 2025

A single moment in the temple reframes what it means to wait well. We follow Simeon, a Spirit-led watchman, from quiet longing to bold confession as he holds a child and calls Him salvation. This is not seasonal sentiment; it’s the heart of Advent laid bare—peace rooted in God’s faithfulness, inclusion that reaches the nations, and a choice that cuts to the soul.

We start with the overlooked courage of ordinary obedience as Mary and Joseph keep the law, revealing how God often moves through simple faithfulness. From there, we dive into Simeon’s song in Luke 2, where peace is not an escape from trouble but rest in a promise kept. Simeon’s language stretches beyond nostalgia and touches mission: salvation arrives not as a plan but as a person, and that person brings light to Israel and to the Gentiles. If you’ve ever wondered whether you’re on the outside looking in, this is the moment Scripture says you are invited in.

The conversation turns as we face the sword in Simeon’s words—the reality that Jesus will be opposed from cradle to cross. We talk about how Christ exposes our hearts and forces a decision: stumble over Him or rise with Him. Using 1 Peter and Ephesians, we explore what it means to build on the cornerstone together, becoming a living house where worship and witness belong to the whole community. Comfort isn’t the promise; purpose is. If your life feels like a watchtower without a map, this story offers a better view and a sure foundation.

Listen for a grounded, hopeful guide to waiting with purpose, proclaiming the person of Jesus, and carrying good news to those near and far. • The First Christmas Carol (Advent Week 1)
    Dec 2 2025

One of the most magical things about Christmas is its songs. While some of you may argue about when the right time is to start singing and listening to them, no one can deny the significance they have in the lives of those who grow up in North America. You don’t have to be a churchgoer to be familiar with Christmas Songs. We hear them playing in the stores throughout the holidays, we sing them in school, we listen to them at community events, and the list goes on and on. And while those songs may bring us sentimental cheer, if we are not careful, we can miss the meaning of the words we are singing.

Not sure what your favorite Christmas Carols are, but whichever ones they are, they are not as old as the one we are going to look at today. Hopefully, you and your group have already read Luke 1:39-55 before watching this, but if not, pause and take a moment to read it.
