  • My Unschooling Journey with Alice Khimasia
    May 10 2026

We are joined by Alice Khimasia who talks us through her wonderful, challenging, exciting, liberating unschooling route!

Home educating your children is, as Alice describes, an inherently counter cultural act. Choosing to unschool them is a step even further away from the norm, bringing with it joys and challenges on the way.

It's a beautiful and thoughtful discussion on one woman's experience of unschooling her children.

With Alice Khimasia- Alice has been unschooling her four sons since 2010, sharing their journey through Organic Education. A former school refuser, she advocates for learner-centered environments that prioritize safety, consent, and wellbeing. Her work has been featured in a BBC documentary, The Guardian, The Times, and a 2016 TEDx talk. Alice gained a Masters in Childhood in Society from the University of Warwick, where she also worked as a co-creation officer in the Institute for Advanced Teaching and Learning. She received an award for her dissertation, which amplified the voices of children who have never attended school to challenge conventional educational narratives. With her older sons now following career paths aligned with their passions and her youngest still learning independently at home, Alice is dedicated to empowering parents to co-create personalized learning journeys that reflect their children's unique needs and interests. - Alice's Website- Alice on YouTube
