  • Summary

  • Welcome to your weekly sweet bite of art history!

Together with host Celia Bugno, listeners will make their way through today's ever-expanding visual culture by discussing major arts-world stories from the last week each Tuesday, and by deep-diving into groundbreaking moments from the art historical past every other Thursday. Talking through the weird, the infamous, the hilarious, and even the seemingly pointless of visual culture in order to understand our present, Celia brings you all the "highbrow" knowledge she can get her hands on in short, sweet episodes designed to keep you hooked and just maybe teach you a little something. This is Highbrow Honey!

Celia Bugno holds a Master's in Art History, specialized in Contemporary arts, from Arizona State University (2023), and a B.A. in Art History from Miami University (2016). Her primary goal in podcasting is to inspire the same love of learning in her listeners that her professors and mentors have inspired in her through the efforts of her work.

  • SERIES, Art That Pisses People Off, Part 2: Colorworks : Bland or Brilliant?
    May 4 2024

In the second part of ATPPO, we will explore artworks that are made up of color! Whether they are strictly one shade of one hue or not, the modernists' shared experiments with the power of nonfigurative, colorful artwork was among the defining focuses of 20th century art. Though these pieces can seem off-putting or seemingly simple, the philosophies behind some of the most iconic single- or few-colored works of the era were very personal and detailed. Dive in with me as we cover both East and West takes on color-centric artworks in our brand new chapter of Art That Pisses People Off: Colorworks : Bland or Brilliant?
