After defeating Ravana and crowning Vibhishana as king of Lanka, Rama prepared to return to Ayodhya with Sita and Lakshmana. Though Vibhishana offered grand hospitality, Rama wished only to reunite with his family and people. Boarding the Pushpaka Vimana along with Sugriva, Hanuman, and others, they journeyed back, recalling key moments of their exile.

Hanuman was sent ahead to inform Bharata, who had been ruling Ayodhya with Rama’s sandals, living a life of austerity. Overjoyed at the news, Bharata prepared a grand welcome. When Rama arrived, the brothers reunited emotionally, and the entire kingdom celebrated his return.

Rama was then crowned king in a magnificent coronation ceremony conducted by Sage Vasishta. Gifts were distributed, and Sita honored Hanuman for his devotion. Under Rama’s rule, known as Rama Rajya, the kingdom flourished with peace, prosperity, and righteousness. People lived happily, free from sorrow, disease, and injustice, marking the ideal reign of dharma and harmony.

After the fall of Ravana and the coronation of Vibhishana, Sita is brought before Rama. Though inwardly emotional, Rama speaks harshly, declaring he fought the war to uphold honor, not merely to reclaim her. He questions her purity after her stay in Lanka, deeply wounding Sita.

Heartbroken yet resolute, Sita defends her chastity and asks for a test to prove her virtue. Choosing the ultimate trial, she enters a blazing fire, praying that if she has been faithful, the fire god will protect her. As she steps into the flames, the universe trembles in shock.

At that moment, divine beings including Brahma reveal Rama’s true identity as the Supreme Being. Then the fire god emerges, presenting Sita unharmed, affirming her purity. Rama accepts her, explaining that the trial was necessary to prove her virtue to the world, restoring honor and righteousness.
