About this listen

Good evening. Florida. I'm Jack O'Malley. Fog is stealing the spotlight across North Florida this morning. Widespread dense fog blankets Jacksonville and the coastal areas, reducing visibility to under a mile in spots. If you're commuting along A1A or Highway 58 degrees, give yourself extra time. That fog lifts by mid-morning, giving way to mostly sunny skies and a high near 78 degrees. In the next 24 hours. Down in Central Florida, patchy fog develops after 3 A.M. Tonight but clears by 9 A.M. Tomorrow. Orlando reaches 82 degrees this afternoon with a steady east-northeast breeze around 7 miles an hour. Tampa Bay sits at 65 degrees this morning under mostly clear skies. You'll hit 86 degrees by 2 P.M. — that's about 58 degrees above normal for early March. A brief shower could pop up around 3 P.M., but most of the day stays dry. South Florida stays warm and breezy. Miami sits at 73 degrees with east winds gusting to 18 miles an hour. A slight chance of thunderstorms rolls through between 11 P.M. Tonight and 2 A.M. Tomorrow. Wednesday brings mostly sunny skies and a high near 79. Beachgoers take note — there's a high rip current risk along all Atlantic beaches from Palm Beach south through Friday. Entering the surf isn't advised. Looking ahead, temperatures climb even higher. Record highs are possible Thursday through Sunday, with inland areas reaching the mid to upper 80s. A few afternoon showers return Thursday and linger into the weekend. Tonight's full moon rises at sunset — a beautiful way to end a warm March day. We're gaining nearly two minutes of daylight each day now, with the spring equinox just two weeks away.
