About this listen

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Southern California Weather Podcast. It's Wednesday, February 25th. Fifty five degrees right now. That's your floor for the day, folks. Everything from here goes up.. And I mean way up. Greater Los Angeles bottoms out at 53 degrees around 4 A.M. By 2 P.M. you're at 77 degrees. Winds flip from east to south around 7 A.M. Tonight stays clear with lows near 58. Slide south to San Diego County. You're sitting at 55 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. Low hits 55 around 5 A.M., then you climb to 73 degrees by 1 P.M. Winds shift north to northwest around 9 A.M. Patchy fog could sneak in late tonight after 1 A.M. Now head inland. The Inland Empire wins the heat contest today. Low of 54 degrees around 5 A.M., then a sprint to 80 degrees by 2 P.M. Winds go southeast to east around 6 A.M. Pure sunshine all day. But here's where it gets wild. High pressure is muscling in hard. Thursday pushes the mid 80s across LA and inland. Friday.. We're flirting with 90 degrees in the Inland Empire. That's 50 degrees to 50 degrees above normal for late February. Record highs are genuinely on the table. Spring is still three weeks away, but nobody told the thermometer. Relief arrives this weekend. A cutoff low slides down the coast and drags temperatures back to earth by Monday. Sunrise at 6:28 A.M., sunset at 5:47 P.M. We're gaining two minutes of daylight every day now. Quick note on air quality. AQI is at 107 today. That's unhealthy for sensitive groups. If you've got respiratory issues, you'll want to get that run in early morning before things heat up. I'll be tracking those potential records all week. Should be a fun ride. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!
