  • Wine Packs - Paul Taylor - A Glass Of
    May 21 2021

On episode eleven of Fine Vines and Wine, I’m joined by Paul Taylor, the founder of A Glass Of - a business where we, as the consumer, are connected with great wine makers that we might not have heard of before, allowing us to try a glass and a bit of their wine. All of the wines are also picked by different sommeliers around Australia, starting off with Gabby Webster; head sommelier at Bondi Icebergs Dining Room.

We discuss the tight knit community that being apart of the wine industry offers, the journey of A Glass Of, from talks with their first sommelier to thinking of the packaging and getting the wines to the consumer, and how sustainability is so important, not just through recycling but also pre-cycling as well.

I actually bought Gabby’s wine selection after our chat and I was thoroughly impressed, so much so, that I have now found a new favourite Chardonnay.

  • Natural Wine - Gabriella - The Wine About
    May 15 2021

Disclaimer: This episode had a few technical difficulties - I’m pretty sure my microphone disconnected itself half way through and there is a little delay here and there, but it’s so jam-packed full of wine chats that you’ll hardly notice it.

On the tenth episode (how are we at 10 already?!) of Fine Vines and Wine, I’m joined by Gabriella; part time sommelier in Sydney and the face and brains behind the instagram account @thewineabout - https://www.instagram.com/thewineabout/.

We delve really really deep into the topic of natural wines and their defects, discuss our dwindling bank accounts because of all the wines we want to try and that one time Gaby decided to make her own wine in the backroom of a bottle shop.

We talk all about Gaby’s love of Gamay, don’t worry I have now tried a Gamay from Beaujolais and I am a big fan, as well as all of the different packaging alternatives that wine brands are starting to use.

So grab a glass of wine on this slightly chilly Saturday night, snuggle up on the couch and enjoy.

Don’t forget to head to my instagram page - https://instagram.com/finevinesandwine?igshid=47jai77w8uh8 - for a list of all of the wines mentioned in this episode.

  • Geelong Wine Region - Belinda Austin - 6ft6 and Austins Wine
    May 6 2021

On this episode of Fine Vines and Wine, I'm joined by Belinda Austin, head of marketing at 6ft6 and Austins Wines. I learn the interesting backstory behind where the name for 6ft6 Wine came from, we discuss the differences between @6ft6wine and @austinswines, the best ways for a successful wine brand to stay connected with the public and the ins and outs of making a vegan wine; it's crazy how a small change can open up a wine brand to a broader target market.

Belinda also recommends that, if you like something a little different, you head over to the @6ft6wine website (https://6ft6wine.com/pages/cocktails) and download their wine cocktail recipes - there's options for everyone.

So make sure there's a glass of wine to hand and take a listen to episode nine. I'm already getting excited about the new @6ft6wine sparkling that's being released in September.
