Family’s tough

Mark 3:20-35

The text this week begins in Mark 3:20. It involves Jesus family. His mother and His brothers. But it is probably not the type of family get together that you might be thinking. Although, I guess that might depend on what type of family you comefrom. The teachers of the law are back in the picture this week, this time calling Jesus satan. They are trying hard to discredit all that Jesus is saying and doing. Why would they take this approach?

Who You Are is greater than Where You Go

This week, we are taking a one-week break from our study in Mark to encourage all of our graduates. The world is obsessed with where you are going and what you can achieve. The world wants your identity to be found in where you work, how much you make, or what your title is. But God has a different plan. The truth is that our identity is not something we earn; it’s something we receive. This message is a great reminder for all of us in this high-pressure world that we live in.

Why did people come to Jesus?
Mark 1:35-45
This week we find people being drawn to Jesus. All kinds of people, from all over the region with all kinds of challenges in their lives. What was it that people were searching for? What did they hope to find? Are people still looking for the same things today?

What does it mean to believe in something? The dictionary definition for believe is simply to accept something as true. But is that what Jesus means when He speaks the famous words of John 3:16? “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” The Bible is clear that belief is more than just accepting the truth. Belief requires a response, it requires action. We can’t wait to share more with you this Sunday!
