Food Strong began with school gardens and a wellness program, growing from 2 to 14 schools and building a Learning Garden at Coit Road Farmers Market, complete with rain gardens and solar spaces. We also launched initiatives like vacant lot restorations, a Mobile Farm Stand, and community classes, all aimed at increasing access to fresh food and promoting health. Their mission is to foster food justice in Northeast Ohio by building sustainable local food systems through community collaboration, empowering neighborhoods to become thriving, self-sufficient areas.
