  • An Evening with Richard DeBernarids - Founder of El Tour de Tucson
    Feb 6 2025

Epic Rides is honored to dedicate the 25th Annual TMC Health 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo to Richard J DeBernardis.

In 1983, Richard took a ride with a friend around Tucson that unexpectedly inspired one of the world's greatest cycling events – El Tour de Tucson.

Well known as the founder and father figure of “El Tour,” Richard’s remarkable exploits include graduating from Harvard; teaching in indigenous communities in Alaska; riding from Alaska to Mexico (his first bike ride!); and cycling the perimeters of the United States and Japan (unsupported). Most notably, his vision and leadership has made Tucson the cycling hub it is today through his commitment to community, philanthropy, health, and fun.

To celebrate Richard's incredible achievements and contributions, we invited you to join us for a live recorded podcast at Dragoon Brewing on Tuesday, Jan. 28th - Doors opened at 5p, recording began at 6:30p.

    It was a smash.
