To make the Basin City Blackout:
Ingredients
- 2 oz rye whiskey
- 1 oz black vermouth
- ¼ oz maraschino liqueur
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- cherry for garnish
- Add whiskey, vermouth/amaro, maraschino liqueur, and bitters to a mixing glass with ice.
- Stir until chilled and silky.
- Strain into a chilled coupe or lowball glass.
- Garnish with a single red cherry—let it sink like a drop of color in a black‑and‑white frame.
