This week we're talking about Books! We announce the winners of our Mark of Erdrick vol 4 giveaway, as well as discuss the manga itself (no spoilers). We also get into the Delicious Quest unofficial DQ cookbook, which is available for preorder and drops June 30 online. You can also hear us talk about goodies from the High Republic, the Saga graphic novel, Wheel of Time and more. We knew where this episode was going to start, but it went somewhere different, and that's okay. It was fun and got to rep some community members and their awesome projects.

We were there, in the before time, in the long, long ago. We were there when the secrets were unfurled a mote at a time in print-run magazines, CD roms, and demo discs that came with fighting games. Come, children, and gather round for the elders to tell you of what it was like when the Chosen One was preparing for launch and what came once it was birthed into the world.

There was a Nintendo Direct this week, and we got to see more of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World! We had gameplay, some new reveals, and more. We talk all about that and other amazing games that we're genuinely excited for in this week's episode.

This week, we talk about Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World. We have been excited about this one ever since it was announced, and Beej was excited even before that--having called it as being a part of the 40th Anniversary stream in an episode a few weeks back.

We don't know a lot of info about the game yet, but there is a pretty good amount we can read between the lines from the teaser, seeing Bianca and Nera, as well as previous installments in the Monsters series.

It's Dragon Quest Day, and like we had hoped, Dragon Quest XII was revealed, and we got our first look at the next mainline installment of our favorite series. Here's what to expect from our reactions and commentary:

• Title change. No longer Flames of Fate. Beyond Dreams instead.
• Completely started over from scratch.
• Protag design
• Character designs
• No release date, so see you in 2030
• New Monsters game with Bianca and Nera, coming out before DQ12 but no date yet. On all current platforms.

In this episode, we talk about what might be Austin's game of the year. Yeah, already. This early. Apparently, LEGO Batman is just that good. We reminisce about Arkham games and Spider-man, as well as other LEGO games and how this newest installment really takes the best of all of them and puts them in a pretty amazing package.

This week, we dig deep into some of the best DQ games that aren't available for console. Whether it's tactics games, rails combat, or TCG battlers, there's something here for everyone. Unless they cancel it while you're still enjoying it, which is more than likely what will happen.

This year is the 40th anniversary of Dragon Quest, and we are talking about what we hope to see and what we expect to see during the Dragon Quest Day presentations in May. We're hoping for DQ12, like every fan in the world, but what else do we think will pop up for the anniversary?
