  • EP172: A Deadly Pack - The Murder of Reena Virk
    Jun 15 2026

When 14 year old Reena Virk was lured away to an isolated area at a social gathering in November 1997 she had no idea of the horror that awaited her.

Reena was set upon by a group of 8 violent teenagers in Saanich, British Columbia, Canada, as she was repeatedly punched, kicked, stomped on & burnt with cigarettes.

The brutal attack by the pack of predominantly female teens only ended when two members of the group- the only male present Warren Glowatski ,16, & Kelly Ellard, 15, drowned her in a nearby gorge.

Reenas shocking murder gained huge attention in the media & raised very important issues that could no longer be ignored.

Like the shocking level of violence that can be perpetrated by groups of females & how a young girl like Reena was bullied to such an extent that it ultimately turned deadly...?

Today's case shines a light on the issues of bullying, the unwarranted targeting of youths from ethnic minorities, as well as the devastating toll bullying takes on a victim.

And how important it is to be aware of the alarming dangers that can arise from pack mentality within groups of youths, not just in Canada but world wide.

Sadly Reena had her life snatched from her by violent bullies, but her death as tragic as it is, was not in vain....

Hopefully awareness of what happened to such an innocent young girl like her can lead to preventing anymore young lives being lost in the same way, & prevent more families from losing the ones they love...
