  • Lily Allen and Miquita Oliver, sausages and mash with onion gravy
    Apr 24 2024
Lily Allen burst onto the music scene in the mid-2000s with her debut album Alright, Still. It received critical acclaim and a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album. Recently, Lily appeared in the West End production of Martin McDonagh’s The Pillowman and also starred in Dreamland, a six-part television series based on Sharon Horgan’s Bafta Winning short about four sisters living on the Kent coast. Miquita Oliver is a television presenter and radio personality, best known for hosting T4 in the early noughties. These days you can catch her podcasting with her mum Andi and as a regular on Sunday Brunch. Lily and Miquita have been best friends since birth and have a new podcast together Miss Me?, which airs on BBC Sounds. The show features their hilarious twice-a-week transatlantic catch-ups. Angela prepares a hearty meal with love for Nick’s best mates and they all tuck into sausages and mash with onion gravy. The meal is paired with a Ventoux Remy Ferbras by the experts at Waitrose. This episode is riotously fun as Nick and Angela welcome Miquita back to Dish for the second time. Lily talks music, Miquita shares many memories and our foursome have a good old gossip over some tea and biscuits after their delicious meal. • Marian Keyes, carrot tarte tatin and purple sprouting broccoli
    Apr 17 2024
Marian Keyes is one of the most successful Irish novelists of all time. She has written more than 20 books and sold over 35 million copies worldwide. Marian studied law in Dublin to placate her parents but had no interest in pursuing a legal career. Instead her rebellious nature took her to the UK where she lived in a squat in East London. It never occurred to Marian that she might be a writer until one day when she was inspired to write a short story. Her first novel, Watermelon, was published in Ireland in 1995 and was an overnight success. Marian’s books are as charming and chatty as she. Her latest novel, My Favourite Mistake, is out now. Angela prepares a showstopping carrot tarte tatin which Marian adores and the experts at Waitrose pair the dish with a Loved and Found Susumaniello Rosato Organic Puglia Rosé. As the proudest Irish woman out there, Marian kicks off conversation with talk of the motherland, she speaks candidly about her unconventional route to becoming an author and Nick and Angela challenge her to a round of the oven glove quiz. • Kaya Scodelario, tagliatelle with cavolo nero, anchovies & pangrattato, & a Lugano
    Apr 10 2024
Kaya Scodelario has grown up in the spotlight. The British-Brazilian actress shot to fame as Effy on E4’s comedy-drama Skins. The show has remained popular with audiences since the early noughties, tackling issues such as teen addiction and mental illness. That success propelled Kaya to the big screen, where she won roles in two massive movie franchises, Maze Runner and Pirates of the Caribbean. Kaya’s latest role is in Guy Ritchie’s hit series The Gentlemen on Netflix, playing Susie Glass alongside an all-star cast of Theo James, Vinnie Jones and Ray Winstone. Nick welcomes Kaya with a Whiskey Sour inspired by her latest role, while Angela makes her carb-loving dreams come true with a pesto & three-cheese hedgehog garlic bread to start and fresh tagliatelle with buttery cavolo nero, anchovies and pangrattato for the main course. Kaya speaks frankly about the film industry and how she chooses roles. She and Nick reminisce about the Skins’ days and she shares how her Brazilian roots have shaped her cooking and, more importantly, her eating!
