  • The Pursuit of Joy
    Jun 28 2026
Paul prayed for the opportunity to carry the gospel to Rome, but the answer to that prayer looked nothing like he expected. He arrived in Rome as a prisoner. His freedom was limited, his future was uncertain, and nearly everything he had hoped to do seemed to have been taken from him.

Yet Paul wrote to the Philippians with unmistakable joy.

In the opening message of Finding Joy Right Where You Are, Pastor Brett Crimmel explores Philippians 1:1–11 and the source of Paul’s joy. Joy does not mean ignoring grief, denying pain, or pretending our circumstances are better than they are. It means allowing the greater reality of Jesus and the gospel to shape our attitude and focus.

Paul shows us that we can find joy by partnering with something bigger than ourselves, resting in God’s faithfulness, receiving His extravagant grace, and allowing His love to overflow through us. Our conditions may affect us, but they do not have to determine the quality or direction of our lives.

Discussion QuestionsWhen circumstances feel heavy, what tends to capture your focus first: the pain you are experiencing or the evidence of God’s goodness? Where are you tempted to believe that joy must wait until your circumstances improve? Who are you partnering with in a mission bigger than yourself, and how has that partnership brought greater joy or community into your life? What would it look like to rest in the promise of Philippians 1:6 this week instead of treating your spiritual growth as entirely your responsibility? Who could experience God’s grace through an intentional act of overflowing love from you this week?

  • What Fathers Pass On
    Jun 21 2026
Abraham could not see how God was going to provide, but he chose to trust God and continue up the mountain. His faith was not passive. He listened, obeyed, and took the next step even when God’s instructions did not seem to make sense.

This Father’s Day message reminds fathers, parents, and every follower of Jesus that the faith we practice affects the people around us. When we live with trust, we transfer hope. We may not see what God is doing on the way up the mountain, but we can trust that He is faithful, present, and able to bring life into places that appear hopeless.

Discussion QuestionsWhere in your life are you asking God to show you more before you are willing to move? What is the last clear thing God has asked you to do? What do your words and reactions teach others about your trust in God? What part of your life currently feels uphill or even dead? What practical step of faith can you take this week?

Five Truths That Can Change Your Life
VBS is about much more than games, crafts, songs, and decorations. It is about helping children and families discover who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him.

In this special VBS Sunday message, several speakers walk through the story of Peter and revisit the five central truths taught throughout the week:

Jesus is the way. Jesus is with me. Jesus is alive. Jesus makes me new. The Holy Spirit helps me.

Peter’s journey included faith, fear, failure, forgiveness, restoration, and boldness. Through it all, Jesus remained faithful. He called Peter, rescued him, forgave him, restored his purpose, and empowered him through the Holy Spirit.

These are not only lessons for children. They are truths that can shape every part of our lives.

Discussion QuestionsWhich of the five VBS truths do you most need to remember right now? Where in your life do you feel like Peter, tired, afraid, guilty, or unsure? What does it look like for you to keep your eyes on Jesus during a difficult season? How has Jesus given you a fresh start after a failure or regret? Where do you need the Holy Spirit’s help this week?
