Culture often promotes self-love as self-preservation instead of a daily discipline that transforms the heart. At first, this version of self-love may feel empowering, but over time it fuels ego, isolation, neglect, self-sabotage, and fractured relationships.

Self-love can become all about what’s comfortable, safe, and “best” for you. But what happens when your best isn’t God’s best for you? When self-love is rooted outside of God, everything starts to fall through the cracks.

True self-love is not about choosing yourself over everyone. It's about choosing alignment with God so you can love yourself correctly and love others properly.
