Come, Follow Me Moms July 6–12 | 2 Kings 2–7 "Lord, Open My Eyes"

This week on Come, Follow Me Moms, we dive into the powerful stories of Elijah and Elisha and discover that God can do incredible things with what feels like "not enough." Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, stretched thin, or wondering how you'll make it through another week of motherhood, these chapters remind us that God specializes in multiplying small offerings and strengthening ordinary people.

    In This Episode

    ✨ The Mantle of Motherhood

    • Elijah is taken into heaven, and Elisha receives the mantle.
    • What does the mantle represent?
    • Why God calls ordinary women to do extraordinary things.
    • President Eyring's promise that our power to carry burdens can increase as we serve.

    ✨ The Widow's Oil

    • A grieving widow with debt, two sons, and one small pot of oil.
    • "What hast thou in the house?"
    • God doesn't ask what we're lacking—He asks what we're willing to offer.
    • How God multiplies our faith, strength, patience, and willingness.

    ✨ The Shunammite Woman

    • A faithful woman who serves the prophet and is blessed with a son.
    • The heartbreaking loss of that child.
    • Her remarkable declaration: "It is well."
    • What faith looks like when life isn't okay.
    • Sometimes faith is simply knowing where to take our pain.

✨ Naaman and the Power of Simple Obedience

    • A powerful military leader brought low by leprosy.
    • The little servant girl who changed his life.
    • Why Naaman almost missed his miracle.
    • What simple thing might God be asking you to do?
    • "Whosoever He Saith Unto You, Do It."

    ✨ Lord, Open His Eyes

    • Elisha's servant wakes up surrounded by enemies.
    • Elisha prays a powerful prayer:

"Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes."

    • The miracle wasn't removing the army—it was helping the servant see Heaven's army already there.
    • How this applies to our fears, motherhood struggles, and daily challenges.
    Key Takeaways

💜 God can work with empty vessels.

💜 God isn't asking for perfection. He's asking for willingness.

💜 Big miracles often begin with small acts of faith.

💜 Don't reject God's answer because it seems too simple.

💜 Sometimes the greatest miracle isn't that God changes our circumstances—it's that He changes what we see.

    This Week's Invitation

    Pray this simple prayer:

    "Lord, open my eyes."

    Open my eyes to:

    • My blessings
    • My growth
    • My children
    • My miracles
    • My angels
    • Thy hand in my life

Then take a few minutes each day to record what you see. Start a simple habit of PJS: Prayer, Journal, Scriptures. Even five minutes can deepen your relationship with Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Spirit.

    Jun 30 2026
Come, Follow Me Moms Podcast June 29–July 5 | 1 Kings 12–13; 17–22 "If the Lord Be God, Follow Him"

Welcome back to another episode of Come, Follow Me Moms!

This week we dive into one of the most powerful stories in the Old Testament—the story of Elijah. From the widow of Zarephath, to Mount Carmel, to the still small voice, we discover that this lesson isn't really about fire from heaven. It's about choosing God.

As moms, we often find ourselves caught between faith and fear, trust and control, peace and worry. Elijah's question to Israel becomes a question for us:

"How long halt ye between two opinions? If the Lord be God, follow him." (1 Kings 18:21)

In this episode we talk about what it looks like to trust God when we don't have enough, how to hear His voice in a noisy world, why fear of failure keeps us stuck, and why commitment to Christ matters more than perfection.

    In This Episode:

✨ The divided kingdom and what it teaches us about divided hearts

✨ The widow of Zarephath and trusting God before the miracle comes

✨ Why the miracle came after the sacrifice

✨ Elijah and the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel

✨ Choosing Christ in a world full of competing voices

✨ FOMO, comparison, and trying to live ten different lives at once

✨ Why God drenched Elijah's altar before sending fire from heaven

✨ Elijah's exhaustion after his greatest spiritual victory

✨ Why sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is rest

✨ The power of the still small voice

✨ Fear of failure, grace, repentance, and commitment to Christ

    Key Scriptures

    📖 1 Kings 12–13

📖 1 Kings 17 – Elijah and the Widow of Zarephath

    📖 1 Kings 18 – Mount Carmel

    📖 1 Kings 19 – The Still Small Voice

    📖 Psalm 46:10

"Be still, and know that I am God."

    Quotes & Thoughts to Ponder

"Before a kingdom becomes divided, a heart becomes divided."

"The miracle came after the sacrifice, not before."

"Truth is never determined by majority vote."

"One prophet with God is stronger than 450 prophets without Him."

"If we don't intentionally choose Christ, something else will choose us."

"You can't have everything. Where would you put it?"

"Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is rest."

    "Failures and failings are temporary."

"Maybe the goal isn't perfection. Maybe the goal is commitment."

"Fear of failure is no reason not to make a full commitment to Christ."

    Mom Challenge This Week

Take a few quiet moments this week and ask yourself:

❤️ Where am I standing between two opinions?

❤️ Where am I trusting fear more than God?

❤️ What is competing for my trust and attention?

❤️ What would it look like to choose Christ more intentionally this week?

    Not perfectly.

    Not flawlessly.

    Just intentionally.

Because if the Lord be God...

    Follow Him.

    Remember, Mom

The scriptures are full of imperfect people whom God used to accomplish extraordinary things.

    The widow wasn't perfect.

    Elijah wasn't perfect.

The people of Israel weren't perfect.

    And neither are we.

    God knows that.

He works with imperfect people every single day.

The question isn't whether you're perfect.

    The question is:

    Which way are you facing?

If this episode blessed your life, would you share it with a friend? You never know who may need a little extra encouragement this week.

Thank you for being here, for studying with me, and for showing up week after week.

Remember who you are and whose you are.

Have a blessed week, Mom. ❤️

Until next time, this is Come, Follow Me Moms. 🎙️✨

  • 26. Come, Follow Me: June 22-28, 2 Samuel 11-12, 1 King 3; 6-9; 11, David and Bath-Sheba, Solomons Temple, LDS Scripture Study, Come Follow Me for Moms
    Jun 23 2026
June 22–28 “Hear Thou in Heaven Their Prayer” 2 Samuel 11–12; 1 Kings 3; 6–9; 11 Welcome back to Come, Follow Me Moms! This week we dive into the stories of David, Bathsheba, Solomon, wisdom, temptation, the temple, and what it means to keep our hearts centered on Christ. At first glance, these chapters may seem like a collection of unrelated stories. But as I studied, one question kept coming back to me: What is winning your heart? As moms, we aren't building kingdoms or temples of stone—but we are building testimonies, families, homes, and future generations. The small choices we make each day matter. In this episode we discuss: ✨ David's tragic choices and how hearts drift one decision at a time ✨ Why God's grace is bigger than our mistakes ✨ The lie so many moms believe: "I'm not enough" ✨ Elder Jeffrey R. Holland's powerful reminder that perfection is "eventually" ✨ Solomon's request for an "understanding heart" ✨ The beautiful story of the two mothers and Solomon's discernment ✨ Why motherhood requires sacrifice—and why it's worth it ✨ The purpose of Solomon's temple and what it teaches us about inviting God into our homes ✨ How keeping covenants helps us stay connected to Christ ✨ Solomon's downfall and the warning against letting other things slowly take first place in our hearts ✨ Simple ways busy moms can make room for Jesus every day Key Takeaways Hearts Don't Drift Overnight David's story reminds us that major mistakes often begin with small compromises. What small choices are drawing us closer to Christ? What small choices are pulling us away? Not in a shame-filled way—but in an awareness way. You Are Not Failing One of the highlights of this week's study is Elder Jeffrey R. Holland's talk: "Be Ye Therefore Perfect—Eventually" Satan often convinces good women that commandments and covenants are evidence that they are failing. But Christ never intended the gospel to be a source of self-condemnation. The Atonement was created for imperfect people who are trying. And that includes every mom listening. Link to talk https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2017/10/be-ye-therefore-perfect-eventually?lang=eng Ask for an Understanding Heart When God asked Solomon: "Ask what I shall give thee" Solomon didn't ask for riches, power, or an easier life. He asked for: "An understanding heart." What a beautiful prayer for mothers. Motherhood isn't a problem to solve. It's a relationship to navigate. Through Covenants, God Dwells With Us The temple isn't just about a building. It's about God's promise: "I will dwell among my people." God wants to dwell in our homes. In our marriages. In our motherhood. In our everyday lives. The temple reminds us to make room for Him. What Is Winning Your Heart? Solomon didn't lose his testimony overnight. His heart slowly turned toward other things. The same can happen to us. Not because we stop believing. But because our hearts become divided. Between: Christ and comparisonChrist and perfectionismChrist and social mediaChrist and busynessChrist and fear The question isn't: Do I love God? The question is: Is He still first? This Week's Invitation Instead of trying harder or doing more, ask yourself: ✨ What am I building? ✨ What is winning my heart? ✨ What small thing can I do this week to make a little more room for Jesus in my home? Maybe it's: One prayerOne scriptureOne temple tripOne act of repentanceOne moment of stillness Because hearts don't drift overnight. And they don't return overnight either. They return one small choice at a time. I'd Love to Hear From You! One of my favorite parts of studying Come, Follow Me is hearing what the Spirit teaches other people.
