We chat with the Von Der Heyden lab team to shine a spotlight on the ecosystem service that is Seagrass!!! The predominant seagrass species Zostera capensis, is endemic to South Africa and found in only 37 estuaries, It has been reported to be extinct in other estuaries such as St. Lucia and Durban and largely on the decline in other estuaries such that it is now listed as endangered in South Africa.
