  • Restoring Cars: Show Cars vs. Drivers | "C.A.R.s, Coffee, & Christ"
    Jun 25 2026

In a special episode in our third season in "C.A.R.s, Coffee, & Christ", we have the pleasure of welcoming three new members of our team to the table, then move to main topic of the show: The business of restoring cars in general, and the difference between restoring show cars versus driver vehicles, in particular.

The team begins by discussing the different motivations for being in the car restoration business. Some are born into it, as family members hand down the practice generationally. Others work themselves into it, moving from repair shops to restoration shops. Finally, some discover it, longing for the creativity and nostalgia of the older, American experience, through old cars.

Next, the team talks about how the car restoration business is a broad highway, but within that highway are multiple lanes. One of those lanes is occupied by what we call the “Show Car” industry. This lane focuses on restoring old cars to perfection, but is highly expensive, time consuming, and impractical. Often, these cars, while beautiful and impressive, are restored to sit in garages and bring to shows, but not for the road.

Now, while there’s nothing wrong with that lane, we think the “Driver” lane on this restoration business highway is the better option, and more fun option! Not only is it more affordable and practical, but it better connects to our mission and purpose – of getting classic cars to younger generations and inspiring them to build these cars again.

  • Pursuing Excellence & Avoiding Pitfalls: Core Values Series | "C.A.R.s, Coffee, & Christ"
    Jun 18 2026

In Episode 8 of Season 3 in "C.A.R.s, Coffee, & Christ", I have the pleasure of sitting down with our Co-Founder, Co-Owner, & COO, Abigail King to discuss the importance of “Pursuing Excellence and Avoiding Pitfalls”.

In the pursuit of excellence, our initial challenge is about providing a clear definition. What one person thinks is excellent, and what another thinks, can be diverse. So, it is crucial to communicate a common standard of excellence. The best brands commonly deliver on their standard of excellence, consistently achieving their ideal. So, Abigail and I discuss how defining that standard, promoting that standard, and delivering on that standard is the key to excellence, as it pertains to aspects of product and process, outcome and effort.

But, in addition to these first two criteria, there is a third criteria that defines excellence – that of attitude. Often, people say that they made something (perhaps food) “with love”. This communicates that the attitude and heart in the process and product is of equal importance in the pursuit of excellence – and we think so too!

Finally, Abigail and I speak about two pitfalls to avoid in the pursuit of excellence. First, the pursuit of excellence for its own sake, which becomes perfectionism. Second, miscasting one’s identity in the pursuit of excellence. This can create a false sense of self, a overly narrow identity, and, ultimately, a “poser” syndrome, where our identity and vocation merge into one, losing ourselves in our pursuits. Pursuing excellence is of great value, but it must stay in its proper place: as an extension of who we are, not becoming what we are. And our pursuit of excellence must always point beyond ourselves to Someone greater.

  • Humility Leads Brand: A Key to Christian Entrepreneurship | "C.A.R.s, Coffee, & Christ"
    Jun 13 2026

In Episode 7 of Season 3 in "C.A.R.s, Coffee, & Christ", we continue in our series covering “Christian Entrepreneurship”, covering the intersection between building a healthy brand with the importance of Christian humility. Often, the thought of branding and humility don’t mix, but cultivating integrity in a brand that puts humility in front is what a Christian company is called to. As Christians, we are called to both cultivate industry and demonstrate humility.

The team begins by discussing the challenge and necessity of building a brand, and how to go about it successfully. We also speak on how legacy brands can often lose their way, which leads us to discuss several pitfalls to avoid. The team then takes time speaking about the brand of C.A.R., and the effort we’ve given to forging a brand we believe possesses both successful industry and Christ-like humility.

Finally, we speak about how to keep humility in the front as you forge a brand that keeps people, products, and profit on equal footing. We reflect on God’s timing to build up a company, about how He pays in His Kingdom, and how humility not only helps build a successful brand but protects it as well.
