In Part 2 of The Secret History the sisters forgot to record their best episode yet, and you’ll have to take our word for it. Even with the dry-run, this re-discussion took 90 minutes to get through. Candice has cooked up an evil cult theory that hinges on what is NOT in the book. Chrissy concludes Bun will be cooked by the start of the next chapter.

The sisters start their journey to Hampden College in Vermont. As the title and book cover would suggest, the story starts off a little slow. However, Candice has cooked up a theory that 1) everyone is gay and 2) the students are in a cult. Chrissy has cooked up an alternative theory that Bunny will be dead by Chapter 4 and Henry is not a demon but an upstanding young man.

RF Kuang took a page out of Brandon Sanderson's book and decided everything will happen in the final 10% of Robin's story. The sisters are deeply disappointed by Letty, who they thought was similar to Hermione but turned out to be Lord Voldemort.

Overall we enjoyed the first 3/4 of the read but the ending fell a little flat for us. We appreciated the lessons learned along the way but feel bummed out there was no hope for the Letty's.

Life is humming along at Oxford. The group of 4 study and pass finals and Robin is officially OUT of Hermes.

Letty convinces the crew to go to the once in a life-time University College Ball, even though the rest of the cohort are certain they will be treated like waitstaff and experience nonstop microaggressions. Letty says, no way! We are all Babel students in polite society. No one will treat you badly. Jokes on everyone as the ball turns out just as bad as the crew thought it would.

Lovell finds out about Robin's interaction with Hermes. Instead of getting kicked out of Babel, Lovell tries the nice-guy tactic. This is about as effective as an alligator trying to smile at you. Robin almost falls for it but then ends up doing something that will change the trajectory of his story.
