  • The relationship between African Americans and healthcare professionals has historically been treacherous. This stigma is especially pronounced in the mental health field; thus, cultivating an estranged relationship between some African Americans and mental health professionals. However, the courageous ones have been able to take advantage of a therapeutic healing process that not only provides access to self-awareness and emotional intelligence, but it also champions the development of remarkable relationships while breaking generational trauma. This podcast will dispel myths and stigmas associated with mental health therapy, while providing psycho-education and practical tools to address various topics related to holistic wellness directly impacting African Americans such as anxiety, anger, trust, forgiveness, trauma, abandonment, parenting, exercise, and conflict resolution within relationships. Experience and true case studies will provide insight into the veracity of the therapeutic process; therefore, emphasizing the reality that African Americans do go to therapy, while also encouraging those who don’t to take advantage of a life-altering and lifesaving process.
