• Titus 3
    May 20 2026

This week we wrap up Titus by looking at chapter 3. In this chapter we see Paul give Titus some "postures" we need to take to be a gospel-moving people. He reminds them to be subject to authority, obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to not be slanderers or gossips, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward EVERYONE. We also see that the reason we take these postures is because we remember (vs.3) our "before." When we keep in mind who we were before the kindness, love and grace of Jesus transformed us then we can see people with compassion instead of contempt or judgement. The call of the Church and our ultimate goal is to be known for our love and the difference that Jesus has made in our lives so that the knowledge of truth can lead to godliness in all the people God puts in our path. Listen in as Ian, Leah, Bri, and Grant share their takeaways from this week's teaching.

  • Titus 2
    May 13 2026

This week we were in Titus 2. We saw through this chapter that Paul instructed Titus and us to not only establish leaders who were living out the sound doctrine they proclaimed but that he was establishing an intergenerations gospel moving strategy that would make clear that everyone who calls on the name of Christ has a role to play in moving the gospel. We also learned about how God's grace doesn't just save us but it teaches us to say no to ungodliness and yes to godly living. As we allow God's grace to teach us we live with an eternal view in every moment of our lives and we find ourselves eager to do good works. We aren't eager to do good works to "earn" His grace but because of His grace. Listen in as Bri, Andy, Jeff and Amaya share their takeaways from this week's teaching.

Our hope and prayer is that through the Beyond the Building podcast you would continue the conversation of God's Word in your home, on your campus, in your workplace and neighborhood so His gospel can be shared with all. • Titus Week 1
    May 6 2026

This week we started a new series on the book of Titus. We saw through chapter 1 that Paul had left Titus on the Island of Crete to advance the gospel and grow the Church. Crete was known for being a rough place where the people were described as lying, evil, lazy brutes and so Paul gave Titus a list of qualifications to look for in the leaders that were Monday-Sunday qualifications. He instructed Titus to find men who lived counter culturally in every aspect of their lives so that the knowledge of truth could lead to godliness in the lives of all who followed them. The call is the same for us today. Our hearts should be transformed by the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ so that in every home, community and city we are in people can see our lives as a reflection of the qualities of the One we follow. Listen in as Bri, Ian, Jeff and Angie share their takeaways from this week's teaching.

Our hope and prayer is that through the Beyond the Building podcast you would continue the conversation of God's Word in your home, on your campus, in your workplace and neighborhood so His gospel can be shared with all. Apr 29 2026

This we looked at the great commission from Matthew 28:18-20. We learned that this commission wasn't just for the disciples Jesus was speaking to or just for missionaries and pastors but that it is for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord. That means wherever we are "as we go" we are striving to represent the One who sent us. We saw that a "sent" life is accomplished by being the most present person in the room, living a life that raises the question, and staying connected to the One who sent them and to those who are running the race with them. Listen in as Ian, Brason, Ben, Jeb, and Jocelyn share their takeaways from this week's teaching.

This we looked at the life of Caleb in Numbers 13 & 14 and Joshua 14. Through his life we learned that a wholehearted devotion/faith sees what others cannot because we see the faithfulness and size of our God as being greater than any obstacle or opposition we will ever face. We learned that living with wholehearted devotion even in the waiting for God's promises produces more boldness and more confidence in who God is. Listen in as Bri, Ian, Tristin and Nate share their takeaways from this week's teaching.

This we looked at James 1:1-4 and Romans 5:3-5 and saw that the difficulties that we are going through now, or that we will go through are developing something that nothing else can develop. We saw that when we frame our struggles through lens of knowing who God is and what God is capable of we can face them with a joy and a hope that is rooted not in an outcome but in the truth of the power and ability of our God to use them for His glory and our good. Suffering produces perseverance, perseverance produces proven character and character produce a hope in Christ that will never disappoint. Listen in as Bri, Ian, Hannah, Tianna and Victoria share their takeaways from this week's teaching.

  • Palm Sunday (Rivals Week 6)
    Apr 1 2026

We are in week 6 of our Rivals series at Compass Worship. We are looking at some of the rivalries in God's Word and how we can keep from repeating history and see some amazing characteristics of our God. This week we looked at the rivalry between our expectations vs. God's plan. We looked at Matthew 21 and saw that on Palm Sunday the people expected their Messiah to be different than He truly was. They wanted a worldly figure to deliver them from worldly oppressions but Jesus, the King of kings had his face set on delivering all people for all time from the penalty of sin. Jesus came to rescue us from so much more than our temporary struggles, He came to set us spiritually free forever. So when our expectations of what Jesus is doing are only focused on the here and now we are missing the true reason that God sent Jesus into the world in the first place - to save souls. Listen in as Ian, Jeff, Paige, and Makaela share their takeaways from this week's teaching.

  • Rivals Week 5
    Mar 25 2026

We are in week 5 of our Rivals series at Compass Worship. We are looking at some of the rivalries in God's Word and how we can keep from repeating history and see some amazing characteristics of our God. This week we looked at the rivalry between Peter & John vs. the Sanhedrin (Acts 4). Through this rivalry we see that a courageous faith:

    • speaks and lives out truth even when it’s unpopular, intimidating, risky and may cost you everything.
    • is unashamed in proclaiming that Jesus is the only way to salvation – but does so with love and clarity.
    • allows God to equip us through His Word and the Holy Spirit. God equips ordinary people to do extraordinary things when they rely on Him.

Listen in as Ian, Joshua, Cooper and Easton share their takeaways from this week's teaching.
