This is a quick and dirty introduction to the podcast, thanks for listening! I will try to have at least one episode published a week. As an FYI, my podcast will be somewhat explicit and not family-friendly. I hope you will stick around to listen to all the great content I will produce over the course of this show. This is the first episode of the Podcast! I set up expectations about how episodes will run, bare with me as I iterate my content.

I begin Series 1 Episode 1 with an introduction Archaic Greek Warfare. I give background and then get into story telling. Thank you for giving this podcast a listen! 

In episode 2, I begin the journey of the development of the phalanx or "log" type warfare first referenced by Homer, where the ancient Greeks are beginning to learn that tactics beyond raiding and small battles need more substantial development. 

Not many sources exist to vehemently confirm this battle took place, but I'd like to think it could seriously have happened to some extent, at least some parts of the mythical battle. I walk through how Sparta lost to Argos in 670-669BCE inside the city of Hysiae.

Episode 3, in this special or "half" episode, I explain the Hoplite and Phalanx evolution theories of Classical Greek warfare in detail instead of a battle. Apologies for the boring lecture, but this is needed to understand and provide context for later podcast episodes on Greek/Hellenic Warfare till the age of Roman Occupation.
