The Aztecs football program hosts media on July 24, 2026 to introduce coaches and players and preview its first season as members of the Pac-12. Steve Perez starts out coverage of the proceedings with thoughts from Director of Athletics John David Wicker and Head Coach Sean Lewis as the team wraps up off-season conditioning and points toward fall camp in early August. Both, quite naturally, are expecting to contend for the honor of hoisting the Pac-12 trophy at season’s end.

Also we set the stage for year 3 of Aztec FAST football, put the student in student-athletes, take a look at women’s soccer and also the renewal of a longtime basketball rivalry with that team from Provo, UT.

Host Steve Perez sets the stage for the Pac-12 epoch by taking a quick look back at the Aztecs' official announcement in 2024 along and a brief history of the reconfigured league. Many official contests under the Pac-12 banner are set to begin in October, including the Aztecs first football game as a conference member. Also, the opponent has been set for San Diego State's upcoming competitions in a basketball tournament held in memory of a local legend.
