In April 2021, Ashley Cain’s eight month old daughter Azaylia Diamond Cain passed away. At eight weeks old she had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukaemia; Ashley and his partner Safiyya captured the nation’s hearts as they used social media to document their journey, raise awareness for childhood cancer and encourage people to become bone marrow donors both for their daughter and thousands of other children.
In this chat with Fearne, Ashley talks for the first time since Azaylia’s death about losing his child, about helping others grieve, and about why he feels he now has a real purpose for the first time in his life.

Your absolutely right about men not showing enough emotion and I hope and prey that more stories like this will raise awareness in that particular subject. I never hugged my dad until I just grabbed him last month after 37 years!! He was that shocked he thought I was attacking him 😂🤦♂️.
I’m sure your little girls watching over you and positively beaming with pride of what her family’s doing to help others. And that place in the afterlife? I know you’ll never stop smashing your targets but you’ve definitely already earned that spot brother.
I paddle board a lot on my local river seven and if you ever need challenge then have you ever considered paddling a full length of a river or a section of the coast? Good for thought for sure but AMAZING PODCAST GUYS ❤️🙏❤️
WOW, POWERFUL STUFF!!!!
