In this inaugural episode of AI for Good | Youth Innovation Journey, we introduce the Help & Grow community—a grassroots initiative in Singapore that connects professionals and learners through technology sharing and talent matching. Since its launch in August 2022, Help & Grow has organized over 15 offline events focused on tech innovations like e-commerce, fintech, blockchain, and AI, helping members connect their skills to companies expanding into Singapore and Southeast Asia.

In 2023, the community formally registered as a non-profit, focusing on AI for Good in Asia. In collaboration with Singapore's National Youth Council (NYC), Help & Grow is hosting various AI-centered events in 2024, including:

1. Four offline AI-themed sharing sessions (June to October),
2. A guided study tour at the Singapore Fintech Festival in November to explore real-world AI applications,
3. A two-week AI for Good Bootcamp in December, promoting hands-on learning through product-building and social impact projects.

Goals of Help & Grow:

• Short-term:
  • Assist companies with market expansion in Singapore and Southeast Asia, focusing on AI, family education innovation, and local business promotion.
  • Offer business services like company registration and closed-door brainstorming sessions to support marketing and localization.
  • Connect companies with talent in product, technology, data analysis, operations, and marketing.
• Long-term:
  • Develop an interconnected ecosystem of a talent pool (Help & Grow DAO), a non-profit organization (Help & Grow NPO), and a social innovation fund (Help & Grow Fund) to drive business innovation and contribute to society.
  • Promote digital upskilling and education innovation while encouraging social integration of new immigrants through community participation in public welfare projects.
