• Episode 07 Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp
    Sep 14 2020
Greetings! I realize I'm quite late with this post, but this week I created literally 10 times more podcast than previous weeks. There are two news segments to this podcast, and 2 entirely new podcasts beside. The first new segment is an exploration of medieval architecture and places called "Castles and Cathedrals," and the second is an exploration of mythological and fantastical beings, called "I'd Like to Speak to the Menagerie." Also, I've added an update by providing time stamps! I realize centuries old stories aren't really in need of spoiler alerts, but since there are multiple segments now, I figure this would make it easier for the listener! Castles Video Segment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M37DveM3EzI Menagerie Video Segment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_hJQ6dUM4Q Timecodes: 00:40 Greeting and Updates 01:50 On being Sebastien's Father 02:31 Introducing Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp 04:32 What to Expect from Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp (Spoilers!) 07:11 The Reading of Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp 35:16 Castles and Cathedrals 41:31 I'd Like to Speak to the Menagerie 49:03 Conclusion As always, please support the podcast here: https://www.patreon.com/AFatherWhoReads?fan_landing=true See some of our dedicated readings on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrGwTgIpMVOJy2t_yaDZ96A?view_as=subscriber To Follow the tale of raising Sebastien: @AFatherWhoReads on Twitter Love to all of you today! Sep 4 2020
Hello everyone! We are on track for regular Friday upload. I'm glad you could join us today for two of the more famous fairy tales. Also, on Patreon, I have chosen two more books to record for subscribers - a collection of Aesop's Fables, and The Heroes of Asgard, an introduction to Norse Mythology. There are plenty more beyond this, but working on 3 different books per week is about what I can muster! Thank you for being here! I look forward to reading for you soon. • The Yellow Dwarf from The Blue Fairy Book
    Aug 27 2020
Good morning everyone! Here is the 5th upload for today. My goal is to do at least 3 episodes per week, and each episode will feature at least 10 minutes of actual story. The next episode, in fact, will feature two stories - and two very well known stories at that. But, until then, is is a story I'd never heard! Good morning everyone! This is the first episode proper of A Father Who Reads. The first 30 episodes or so will be the tales from The Blue Fairy Book. This tale is originally from The Arabian Nights, but has been through a few translations to get to this point. I hope everyone is ready for a relaxing weekend! • A Father Who Reads
    Aug 27 2020
Good morning! This is the debut outing of a podcast geared towards readings of fairy tales, fables, folk lore and mythology (and possibly novels and other things) for children (like mine), yes, or for those who didn't get to experience these things the first time around (like me.) In this episode I simply describe what to expect from the podcast. In the first round of episodes after this, however, I'll be reading the tales from the Blue Fairy Book by Andrew and Leonora Lang.
