  • Verbally Vandalized: When the Job You Love Becomes the Abuse You Survive

A lot of people can spot abuse at home, but freeze when it shows up at work wearing a badge, a title, or a “joking” tone. We’re talking about workforce abuse: the belittling, intimidation, sexual harassment, and power plays that make you dread your inbox, second-guess your talent, and feel trapped because you still have bills and people counting on you.

We share personal stories and hard-earned patterns, from quid pro quo pressure to toxic hierarchy in fields like healthcare where “do it my way or the highway” gets excused as leadership. We also dig into a truth that gets overlooked: remote work doesn’t protect you. Late-night texts, constant demands, insults in chats, and pressure to respond instantly can still be harassment, even when you’re miles away.

One phrase becomes a north star for boundaries: do not let them verbally vandalize you. We break down what that looks like in real life, how disability-related jabs and “little” comments can escalate into discriminatory harassment, and why documentation is your best defence. Save the screenshots. Keep the emails. Track the dates. Evidence turns a messy “he said, she said” into something you can actually act on.

If you’re dealing with workplace harassment and you’re not sure what counts, listen through, then share this with someone who needs it. Subscribe, leave a review, and tell us what workplace behaviour you’re done normalising.

Someone can be thriving and still need shower shoes. That one line opens a bigger truth we keep bumping into: when people judge a story from the outside, they miss the practical help that actually changes a life. We sit down for a raw, unscripted conversation about domestic violence shelters, what “support” looks like in real time, and why dignity often comes down to basics people never think to pack when they are escaping danger.

From there, we go deeper into trauma, trust issues, and the reflex to sabotage anything that feels too good to be true. We talk about loving big without losing yourself, how strong women still deserve softness, and why healthy relationships are built on noticing needs, not keeping score. We also get honest about addiction recovery and mental health: relapse is not failure, the work does not stop, and tools matter when life gets brutally heavy.

And because healing cannot be all grind, we make room for joy. A tiny dinosaur dance, family pranks, and rapid-fire laughs turn into a serious point about staying connected to play, hope, and the part of you that still believes things can get better. If you care about recovery, resilience, peer support, stigma reduction, and everyday compassion, this one will stick with you.

Subscribe, share this with someone who needs it, and leave a review so more people can find the conversation. What part hit home for you?

  • Do Men Tinkle And Other Emergency Room Wisdom with Michael Solomon and Victoria Cuore

The pain wasn’t normal, and pretending it was nearly cost Victoria her arm. We’re unpacking a late-night emergency room run after surgery when stitches that should have been routine turned out to be buried, insanely tight, and infected. We describe what it looked like to get them removed (yes, it was as intense as it sounds), why we trust body signals over guesswork, and how fast “I’ll wait one more day” can become a permanent problem. If you’ve ever downplayed symptoms, second-guessed yourself, or been dismissed by rushed care, this conversation will hit home.

Then the mood shifts from medical advocacy to public safety when we share a wild story from a family pizza dinner: a man openly recording children and trying to film up a woman’s skirt. We talk through what we did, what we wish the staff had done, and the line between “allowed” and “acceptable” in places where families should feel safe. It’s a practical discussion about speaking up, protecting minors, and refusing to normalize predatory behavior.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month is also front and center. We shout out the Finally Heard webinar, our peer-to-peer support efforts, and “Rachel’s Light,” a memorial page where people can share photos and stories of loved ones lost, including to overdose. We also highlight Jesse Tyler Williams’ book and how donated copies can get into the hands of someone who needs help but can’t afford it.

If you got something from this, subscribe, share the episode with a friend, and leave a review so more survivors and supporters can find it. And please vote for Victoria Cure at tophost.org and check out our Rebel Gold coffee at strongerthanamountain.com.
