大人になってから発達障害が明らかになる人が増えています。そういう人は、もともと発達障害の要素をもっていたのに、それに合った育て方をされていないため、こじらせてしまって二次障害に至っている人も少なくありません。
そんな発達障害をもつ人の思考パターンは、一般の人とは大きく違っています。外見的には同じ常識を共有できる仲間に見えますが、じつは、話の通じない外国人のようなものです。
その違いを知らずに接してしまうから、齟齬が起きるのです。
そこで、発達障害をもつ人は、何をどう考えているのかを説明しつつ、「身のまわりが片付けられない」「時間が守れない」「企画書が書けない」などの困りごとに、周囲の人たちはどう対処していけばいいかを、具体的に説明します。

あるいは、本人が手帳を取得して、福祉的サービスに移行したほうがいいと思われるケースもあるでしょう。
