これからの人手不足の解消や社会保障制度の維持のためには、高齢者も今以上に長く働かなければならない。政官財がそろって「人生１００年時代」を唱えるのも、そんな社会的な要請があるからだ。２０２１年４月に、企業に対して７０歳までの就業機会の確保を努力義務とする「改正高年齢者雇用安定法」（通称・７０歳定年法）が施行された。そうした「定年消滅」の流れは、社会の変化やマクロ経済の観点から見ても必然といえそうだ。企業にとっても待ったなしだ。やがて５０歳、６０歳、７０歳を迎える働く人も、収入や貯蓄、退職金や公的年金の受給、モチベーションなど、自分のライフプランを見直し、何歳まで働き続けたいのかを考え直すことも必要だ。新しいライフスタイルの選択肢は多様にある。
