Story
The Battle of Serenity Valley was the turning point that led the Independents to their defeat at the hands of the Alliance. Yet the Browncoats had held the valley for weeks against all odds, before being ordered to lay down their arms. Command stated they refused to send in airpower because the ground war was "too hot". But the soldiers who were there insist that was not true.... While picking up a new cargo on Persephone, Captain Malcolm Reynolds is kidnapped by a bunch of embittered veteran Browncoats who suspect him of sabotaging the Independents during the war.

Story
The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the Native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon came ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There went the good old days, when humans got killed only by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

The world's most entertaining and useless self-help guide, from the brilliant mind behind the wildly popular webcomic xkcd and the million-selling What If? and Thing Explainer. For any task you might want to do, there's a right way, a wrong way and a way so monumentally bad that no one would ever try it. How To is a guide to the third kind of approach. It's full of highly impractical advice for everything from landing a plane to digging a hole.

A modern masterpiece, The Godfather is a searing portrayal of the 1940s criminal underworld. It is also the intimate story of the Corleone family, at once drawn together and ripped apart by its unique position at the core of the American Mafia. Still shocking 40 years after it was first published, this compelling tale of blackmail, murder, and family values is a true classic.

Story
We would all be better off if everyone saw mathematics as a practical ally. Sadly, most of us fear maths and seek to avoid it. This is because mathematics doesn't have good 'people skills' - it never hesitates to bluntly point out when we are wrong. But it is only trying to help! Mathematics is a friend which can fill the gaps in what our brains can do naturally. Luckily, even though we don't like sharing our own mistakes, we love to listen to tales about what happens when maths errors make the everyday go horribly wrong....

Beyond their boundaries, they say, lie endless burned-out deserts and the remains of splintered forests. Survivors still remember the past greatness of humankind, but the last remains of civilisation have already become a distant memory. Man has handed over stewardship of the earth to new life-forms.

The world will end on Saturday. Next Saturday. Just before dinner, according to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655. The armies of Good and Evil are amassing, and everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except that a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture. And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist.

Summary
The Internet isn't all cat videos. There's also Felicia Day - violinist, filmmaker, Internet entrepreneur, compulsive gamer, and former lonely homeschooled girl who overcame her isolated childhood to become the ruler of a new world...or at least semi-influential in the world of Internet geeks and Goodreads book clubs.
After growing up in the South, where she was 'homeschooled for hippie reasons', Felicia moved to Hollywood to pursue her dream of becoming an actress and was immediately typecast as a crazy cat-lady secretary.
But Felicia's misadventures in Hollywood led her to produce her own web series, own her own production company, and become an Internet star.
Felicia's short-ish life and her rags-to-riches rise to Internet fame launched her career as one of the most influential creators in new media. Now Felicia's strange world is filled with thoughts on creativity, video games, and a dash of mild feminist activism - just like her memoir.
Hilarious and inspirational, You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost) is proof that everyone should embrace what makes them different and be brave enough to share it with the world because anything is possible now - even for a digital misfit.

Funny and charming and nerdy :)
I was kind of tangentially aware of Felicia Day's work but plan to seek more of it out after listening to this. Her story is engaging and funny and she does a fantastic job reading it. If you are in anyway at all interested in nerd culture or just enjoy a laugh you will probably get something out of this book. I appreciate that she is not at all apologetic about being a high achiever but is also honest about her anxiety.
It's also quite touching in places - there's a bit with a fan that made me tear up a bit. The gamergate chapter is also really interesting and a thoughtful examination of that ridiculous phenomenon.
I was enjoying it so much, that I listened to it all in one day - so, yes, I recommend this book.
The pdf is available but not, apparently, on my phone.

Funny, inspiring, honest and brilliant
I am not an obsessive gamer, and I only knew of Felicia through shows like Buffy and Supernatural. But you don't need to be a gamer to appreciate what she has to say - it's a witty and brave account of how to CREATE and be true to who you are. Everyone should read / listen to this! You're awesome Felicia! Now I'm off to watch The Guild :D

loved every last word
I picked up the audiobook as my
travel companion for my daily commute. Having been a big fan of Felicia Day for years now I had been looking forward to the book for months. This book, read by Felicia herself, gives wonderful insights into the weird and creative mind of a situationally famous lady gamer/actress/writer/person that made me smile, nod, frequently chuckle and snort but also feel strongly connected during her accounts of her depressions, fears and worries. Hearing her relate her not infrequent struggles with people, the mad mad world and above all herself made me feel okay about my own quirks and struggles.
Great, inspiring and funny memoir.

A weirdly human deja-vu
I've enjoyed Felicias work for a while now, though I'm definitely late to the party compared to fans of hers from back when the Guild started and such.
But despite what the haters say, she is both a genuine geek from what I can tell as well as a fantastic ambassador and voice for both geeks and in a way a generation heavy with geekdom.
I enjoyed her reading of this book which itself was a nice and at times harsh insight into the creative world - nothing that most of us have never heard but here it was real and oddly normal without the melodrama one often hears/sees with stories about the rise and fall of the famous and such.
As someone in India where this culture and mindset is definitely still nascent, much of her struggle and especially with regard to peoples's attitudes and the like hit home a lot. It was also a nice sober reminder and yet retained a sense of hope and patience and staying true to your vision/dreams even when they evolve that I appreciated.

We both enjoyed this FAR more than we anticipated.
I'm a female. I'm a gamer. Partner is a gamer (we met in WoW 10 yrs ago) and we're both fans of Felicia Day and her work - so we had a pretty good feeling that we would enjoy listening to her book. Truthfully though, we both really didn't expect to LOVE the book as much as we did.
This is one of those books where you'll either love it or hate it - and I'm personally so disappointed that the book came to an end.

Absolutely Outstanding
This book is like a peak into the amazing life of Felicia Day. You get to go along on this journey with her as she shows you all the highs and lows she has been through, and how she's been able to rise above any obstacle in her way. In this book she also tackles problems about the verbal bulling and abuse people receive online, taking a stand against the trolls. I found this book uplifting and it left a warm glow in my heart. Would definitely recommend to anyone of any a age or gender, as it is funny, emotional and an absolute delight to read :)

Yes this book is for you if you are nerdy, geeky like felicia day and or ever felt anxiety. This book is hilarious, relatable, a great insight and just a joy. It deals with Felicias childhood and the time up and including gamer gate.
