It must have been extremely frustrating to have really thick jury who didn’t want to understand the evidence and instead they acquired him just because of colour of the skin, thinking he is one of their own.

This was an excellent book from Clark. Both prosecution wrote great books. If anyone wants to know how she performed in the trial, you just need to read Vincent Bugliosi’s book. Especially because in the book she spends a page or two debunking Henry Lee’s testimony although in her final summation she only dedicated one sentence to him, which proved costly, as the jurors believed his testimony.

I came here after being one of the many millennials to experience the trial of O.J. Simpson for the first time through the FX mini-series; American Crime Story: The People vs O.J. Simpson. My reasoning for choosing this book is because of the way in which Marcia Clark was portrayed and treated in the show, I wanted to learn more about her and her story, what better way to do so than to experience her book read aloud in her own voice.This book was an excellent memoir detailing the trials and tribulations (quite literally) of Marcia's life, both during the O.J. circus and in her life leading up to it. That being said, this book is not entirely what I was expecting. I came to this book with the idea that it would be a scathing, 10 chapter rant about the so called 'Dream Team', the media, Judge Ito and the jury, although there were aspects of my assumptions present in her work, Marcia chose to talk openly about how the trial effected her emotionally and physically, personally and professionally. Far from the stone cold bitch she appears when on a roll in the courtroom, Marcia showed herself to be a warm and humble person, a feat that must have been incredibly difficult coming off a time where every aspect of her appearance, personality and behaviour was scrutinised on every news stand across the USA.If you're old enough to remember watching the trial, prepare to relive the experience through the eyes of one of the key players. If, like myself, you're a millennial coming from The People vs O.J, prepare to experience a deeper and unrestricted insight to the backstage happenings of the trial. If you're one of the people who was sceptical or judgmental of any aspect of Marcia Clark, prepare to feel a pang of guilt at your young, uninformed and misguided views.
