About this listen
Maggie's stutter makes going to school hard. She will do almost anything to avoid speaking in class - even if that leads to trouble.
Sent to stay in the depths of Cornwall with a grandfather she barely knows, Maggie discovers an abandoned snow leopard hiding in the nearby woods. It turns out that Rumpus was an exotic pet from Harrods who proved too wild.
Maggie and Rumpus build an understanding - but when the creature is spotted by others, danger follows.
Can Maggie believe in herself enough to save not only Rumpus, but also the ancient forest around them?

She has a very pleasant voice but by reading phrases as if they were complete sentences, then having to read the second/third phrase as if each were a new sentence, the meaning was often distorted and sometimes completely lost. It simply didn't do justice to the book.
My recommendation would be to read the book instead so that you can get the flow of the language right in your head. Narrators should show more respect for the book they are reading and do the author the courtesy of understanding how a sentence is going to turn out. A pre-recording read-through is surely a must and I don't believe there had been one here. A pity.
