About this listen

The wilderness - forest, desert, glacier, jungle - has been the scene of the past century's most exciting stories, inspiring many of its greatest writers, including Jack London, Norman Maclean, Evelyn Waugh, Redmond O'Hanlon, Sir Wilfred Thesiger, H.M. Tomlinson, and Algernon Blackwood. Selections from these authors' most gripping works are delivered by equally compelling narration, producing an experience ideal for people who are fascinated by the beauty, insight, and danger that await us all in the wild.

I only gave it one star because Negative Ratings can not be given. This is not stories of how real people survived adversity coming forth to tell there tail of survival. It's about generally awful things that occurred to made up characters from the authors listed in the title. Some are well told and more often than not leave a nasty taste in the mouth as the character is left in the twilight zone of there predicament. A few are rather good if you like that sort of stuff... Short bitter tales.

Made up characters take a beating!
