Summary

When Eve Anderson meets Adamo de Leone on a ship bound for Europe, she has no idea of the dark secret that will endanger both their lives. She accompanies him to his home on Italy's Amalfi Coast to open an inn left to him by his grandfather. But then she learns he spent five years in prison for a crime he claims he didn't commit. Could the man she loves be responsible for embezzling eighty million dollars from the investment firm he once owned?

Adamo wants to hold Eve at arm's length until he can clear his proud family name. But when there is an attempt on his life and Eve is terrorized by a gun-bearing thug, he realizes how much he wants her, and he must accept whatever help he can get to uncover the well-hidden trail of a six-year-old crime.

A lively and interesting story

I really enjoyed this audio book once I got into it and became familiar with the characters. I particularly enjoyed the narration which lent colour to the story and allowed me to quickly know which character was speaking.

Where Lemons Bloom

This story starts out on an odd and confusing note. He saves her from drowning, they jump in to bed together, she wakes the next morning and runs off with nothing and yet she is able to get into her room? They run into each other on the ship and decide to give friendship a chance and start to fall in love by the end. I love how all his family comes out to meet them when they arrive in town. The first few hours of the book drags on, but does pick up. The narration was nice but the accent did not quite match the American lady.

Great story with some unexpected twists

I loved the story, it felt like the author took me on a journey across the globe. From the beaches of Barbados to Italy, to the United states. The way the story started, I wasn’t sure I was going to like it - the whole “I was drowning but let’s have sex” seemed a bit unrealistic, but I’m glad I stuck with it because it just got better as the story went. The story was nicely paced, and there were lots of unexpected things that happened. The characters were well developed and very likable. I loved the secondary characters too. I would recommend this book to any one who loves an interesting suspense story with some romance.

Great Story!

I wouldn't normally read this book, but I received a free code for it and was pleasantly surprised!! The story was great and kept me very interested. They only reason I didn't give it 5 stars across the board is that it was written in 3rd person, and I prefer 1st.

Romance and intrigue...always a great combo

Wow...just.wow. The cover of this book may have you believing that it’s a nice, relaxing book...nope! The story was riveting from page 1. Eve is on a brief stop in Barbados before boarding a fancy sailboat to cruise for 2 wks. She is looking forward to her extended vacation after being her father’s care giver for 5yrs. On her last day on the island, Eve is rescued from drowning by Adamo...that’s just too cute...Adam & Eve! Anyhoo, they have a one-night stand and Eve is ready to move on. Exceeeept...yep, her tablemate for dinner that first night of the cruise is none other than Adamo! They decide to be friends and end up spending the next two weeks getting to know each other. Eve agrees to accompany Adamo to his home on the Amalfi coast...and then things definitely pick up! Adamo is a convicted felon, who spent 6yrs in jail for embezzlement...a crime that he denies. After a couple of failed attempts on his life, Adamo & Eve believe that there was more to Adamo’s case...and the investigation begins. Who was behind the embezzlement and will they find out before the next attempt on Adamo’s life is successful? Where is the missing 80 million dollars?
What will come of Adamo & Eve’s relationship? Fantastic story and totally worth the read!! The supporting characters are great and you can sense the care and concern amongst them.

Great Story!

I really enjoyed listening to this book! Both the author and narrator were new to me, and I most definitely would listen to more by both of them. I loved the twists this book had and thought the story was original. It was neat how the author included some Machiavellian details and how the title really did fit the book. The ending was definitely well done with the update on supporting characters. The narrator did great with all of the various accents from French, Italian and American. Time well spent listening. Kudos to the author for this book. I loved it.

it was pretty good to listen to

This story began with Eve being rescued from almost drowning in the ocean in Barbados. When the man tells her his name must be Adam, she thinks it’s a joke. As she goes into shock, he warms her with his body and they make love. As they get further acquainted later, she learns he’s inherited a small tourist hotel. She flies with him to Italy where they meet his family and begin a new life as small innkeepers. Then trouble begins as his past life begins to catch up with him. Will they survive this? Can their love survive learning of his past?
