Summary

An all new angsty, dark, stand-alone Contemporary Romance in the Moments in Boston Series ...

You never forget your first love … even when he becomes a memory.

There was before. When we were together, when we were happy. When we had nothing but dreams. When not a single bad thing could ever happen because we were young and in love.

And there was after. When the unthinkable occurs, how do you count time, knowing how precious it is? When dreams turn to nightmares, how do you wake up every day and choose to go on? When you have a chance to save another, how can you not?

Even if it changes everything. Even if it destroys you.

A harrowing, heartbreaking dark contemporary romance from USA Today best-selling author Marni Mann, the third installment in the Moments in Boston series of stand-alones that explores the darkest nights and brightest dawns of the heart. A book that will leave you aching … and looking over your shoulder.

Excellent!

This is a story well written and well told.
It’s non linear structure adds to the intensity to the plot and heightens the tension.
The characters are believable and you are drawn to their humanity, feel their emotions, sorrows and traumas.
Ashe’s and Pearl’s love is beautiful. Ashe’s gentleness, strength and persistence is so heartwarming and heals Pearl’s damaged soul twice. Pearl is strong although damaged by her rough childhood but caring for her beloved Gran, who gains confidence and belief in herself through Gran’s and Ashe’s love.
My only criticism of the story is that there should have been more written about Pearl’s recovery from her horrific trauma, especially the sexual side and how she overcame that to become intimate with A she again. A final intimate scene was missing and definitely missed.
Narration - raised the story to 10 stars. Maxine Mitchel as Pearl and Lauren Sweet as Kerry were brilliant. And as for the wonderful Sebastian York, his beautiful gravelly voice captured Ashe’s strength, gentleness, persistence and kindness so well. I adore SebYo’s voice and on bad nights listen to and it soothes me to sleep. Very well done to all the voice actors for a great job.
I recommend this audio book to all who love a good romance. I had tears falling from my eyes at the end.
